Enlightenment is sharing my insights

Enlightenment is a graduated process from a glimpse to full on!
A bit light a dimmer switch!

If I keep my insights to myself - thats fine - but I get no feedback, and how do I know that I am experiencing Truth?

If I share my insights then, at least, I may get feedback. Maybe my insights are rubbish or profound or just 'so what'. I hope for feedback.

Feedback demonstrates connectivity and onenesss, I think?

Enlightenment is being aware of being aware

If we are not fully awake, we are not as fully aware of reality as we can be.
If we are fully aware of the moment, here and now, we are awake.

If we are fully aware of being fully aware in the moment, then who is being aware?

Is there a personal relative awareness and a collective absolute awareness
that can become unified?

Certainly the sense of separation disappears.

Enlightenment is having no sense of separation

There is much writing about suffering or unsatisfactoriness in 'material' terms.
We talk of inevitable suffering of death and loss and things we get attached to.

Fine. But I think there is only one form of suffering, which is 'imaterial' in the sense of gaining more enlightenment, and that is suffering that comes from a sense of being seperated from what you feel you are part of, whatever you call it (God, Oneness, Infinite Intelligence, Nothingness).

I think we all go through life with this unsatisfactoriness unless/until we find fulfillment and satisfactoriness, through experiencing communion with the higher self of One and All or whatever?

Enlightenment is Being in Love with Wisdom

Love and Compassion are the essence of humanity in its natural state.

Wisdom is awareness and understanding of what we really are

When we know what we really are, we naturally want to give unconditional love and feel compassion.

When we give unconditional love, and feel oneness, we become wise to who we really are.

Such peace.

Enlightenment is - being - in Love - with Wisdom?

Enlightenment is experiencing all aspects of the Truth

A poem I wrote in September 1991.

An aspect of the Truth

If God speaks and acts, not I, through me THEN
God speaks and acts through you THEREFORE
God speaks and acts, not us, through us, THEREFORE
God exists as billions of voices and actions, And Thats What We Are .........

If we all do Gods work anyway BUT
Are not aware and do not understand THEN
An awareness of who we are will help us realise our purpose AND
Create Peace, Love and Understanding.....I Think?

Why do I need to know all this?
Why logic, IF,THEN,THEREFORE,BUT,AND,WHY?
Why can't I just BE and, as my wife says
She doesn't need to Know! She just feels she IS

I think I need to know?
She feels she is?

We both know and feel we are, THEREFORE ...I AM

Enlightenment is going beyond pleasure and pain

In looking at the Buddhist 4 Noble Truths and 8 Fold Path I am reminded of the need to go beyond pleasure and pain.

If craving is the cause of suffering or unsatisfactoriness, then we need to go beyond craving.
Seeking pleasure and avoiding pain is what we seem to be doing most of the time, but sometimes 'doing the right things' may mean doing painful things. But we know that this is wise.

So, we have to follow the right path and do the right things, in our search for living in the Truth, as a first principle, and seek pleasure and avoid pain - as a second principle.

Christians would express this as 'Seek ye first the kingdom of god/heaven and all else will be added'

What is the first principle? Love & Compassion (Love thy neighbour as thyself) or Wisdom (seeing reality as it is and acting accordingly) or both Love and Wisdom as one?

Stephen Covey has a great book on business ethics 'Principle-Centred Leadership'.

Enlightenment is realising that the world is already perfect

It occured to me, whilst watching TV and being inspired by the incredible talent that exists in the world today that an aspect of

Enlightenment is realising that the world is already perfect. Absolutely.
In the here and now there is everything.

So there is nothing you need 'do' for the world, as it is perfect.
But as you are a part of that perfection, it is your duty in life to
find and express your perfection in the world, in your unique way.

What about all the imperfection we experience, and suffering and violence?

That too is perfectly imperfect?

A New Paradigm?

When we see the bigger picture, it can sometimes change the paradigm of who we are and why we are here.

For the first time in the evolution of humanity on Planet Earth, we can now see ourselves quite differently, from the pictures taken from outer space.

Picture: NASA & NSSDC

What do you see? Where are you? Does the picture change your paradigm or, if not, does it change your perception of who we are in any way?

The words of John Lennons' 'Imagine' come immediately to mind. That song says it all for me.

Everything I profoundly believe and feel - summed up in a few simple verses.

What genius!

Everything I feel about our inter-connectivity, unity, oneness and allness - summed up in a picture.

What? ...beyond words!

Blissful nonsense & Blissful Wisdom

I am trying to make sense of all this - which is silly because

'All This is beyond sense'

I can grapple with intellect to try to make sense, sometimes its painful, frustrating and tiring.
and maybe I may become full of knowledge and, even, some wisdom?

Or I can accept and let it be and know nothing... and be blissfully ignorant?

Watch a baby smile :-)

What we need is Blissful Wisdom !

I have always been 'In Love with Wisdom' I just didn't always know it?

Imagine eternal global thoughts

Most of us now accept, or are prepered to contemplate that "thoughts are living things".

We can blog and potentially spread our thoughts throughout the globe, throughout our lives.

What when we pass away? I suppose its the same as writing books, but in a new dimension.

Eventually, we will build a living repository of thoughts, ideas, insights, associations and observations that will represent the past, as well as present thinkers.

A living Global Brain is being prototyped and is on its way as the next step in the evolution of humanity?

The thoughts may well live on in new ways?
Seperated or 'as one'?

Google adserve today .......tomorrow?

Inner Sun

Today I awake, in the South of France, to a gloomy, grey overecast, cold, rainy day.
I moved here because I have am so affected by the weather. When the sun shines and the sky is blue, regardless of the temperature, I feel so alive and positive.

I realised this morning that we have an inner sun as well. We may even have the exact equivalent of our solar system or entire universe within.

When you become aware of the inner sun, by going beyond the clouds and veils of everyday thinking in meditation, its like being in an aircraft that is climbing through the clouds and out into the sunny blue skies.

When you are aware of the inner sun, the outer doesn't matter so much, or even at all.

I think the inner is the strongets by far. The difference is that you can do something about removing inner clouds immediately here and now - and forever if you wish?

Consciousness for a moment

Here and now there is consciousness. I can perceive that I am personally experiencing consciousness.

What is real consciousness?

It may be all that there is, manifest in everything, everywhere, all the time and, also, even never.

Some say you can be in God, now, and eternally commune.
Some say that is utter rubbish.

But who/what is saying this and thinking this in both?

Could it be that the same consciousness can instantly be what you perceive it to be?

What does Consciousness say to you?

Oneness & Nothingness

I have always liked the notion that reality is 'One' or even 'One and All'
All in One and One in All.

I like the notion that the two hemisperes of the brain, which are diametrically opposed, yet complementary, make us see/perceive a dualistic world, at least, with seperatedness and multiplicity of objects. I agree that this practical world of duality with a continuous dance of opposites, that we live in is, therefore, not absolute reality but our perceived reality, and may be called illusion.

I am trying to deepen my meditations because I feel as if I am transcending duality into Oneness. Maybe, by quietening the activities of the left and right hemispheres I am sinking into the underlying oneness.

If we are all One in reality, all part of the One Universal Being, with no real seperation, our entire ethical system and behaviours to one another (really to ourselves) would change dramatically. No stealing, violence and killing, lying, abusing, or anything that does not comply with the Golden Rule of 'Loving your neighbour as yourself'.

I can cope with all of this, in fact I love all of this, and choose to practice Oneness to the best of my ability

So what of Nothingness?

Do we need to transcend further, from Oneness to Nothingness?

I think Nirvana is sanskrit for zero-ness?

The Vedas talk of 'suchness'

When I contemplate 'becoming such' comes to mind.

I think and feel that suchness hits the mark, or 'thats what it really is'.

Global knowledge and wisdom

Of the wonder of the world wide web, I read of the power of the knowledge worker who can reach the globe by using his/her brain.

How powerful and inspiring!

Also, I immediately respond with ' a wisdom worker who can reach the universe by using his/her Mind'.

Did it ever occur

Writing spontaneously is fun .. even if you miss out on seriousness.
It doesn't matter really, it just flows from the heart in a silly way.
Getting over it becomes a matter of self defense and getting under it becomes
a free way to test your connections.

Where is this coming from?

I know but you don't - said the bishop to the actress.
I never know what matters but I do care. Maybe you will too.

Who is you?

I know not. I care not. Indulge in the free flow and the senses will cooperate.

Madness. Insanity. Foolish gibberish.

Yes but fun.

A great place to share insights

I am looking forward to writing my insights and getting feedback
